BASTARDS!!!!!!!

Posted in Ramblings
I just read on the news, that some cock has stolen the headstone from the grave of Ian Curtis. Is nothing sacred anymore?

Curtis, who committed suicide in the May of 1980, was one of the most influential punk musicians of the original punk era. He fronted the now legendary band Joy Division, which today is considered by many to be on level with Sex Pistols, if not even superior, as the original kings of punk.

Following Curtis' death, Joy Division was reformed in to New Order which went on to become a monumental success. But they would never record anything as big as Love Will Tear Us Apart, the heart wrenching punk anthem which was released only a month before Curtis' death.

On one hand, it's rather rude of the thief. On the other hand, I doubt Ian cares. Heh. *quickly goes somber again*

I have never EVER heard of Joy Division described as a "punk" band... ever. Heh.

And no, there really is nothing sacred. I actually caught someone stealing flowers from a grave because they'd forgotten to bring some for their own relative's resting place.

Man...I hadn't heard that song in many, many years.

I read about the incident, the other day, but didn't know who it was. It's too bad that others can't respect that which does not belong to them.

Ogre - I actually think you're right, even if he was alive, Curtis most likely would not care.

Twist - Really? That's quite ood. Joy Division is usually mentioned in the same quasi reverent manner as Sex Pistols, at least where I come from.

Tex - It's a good song, yes? Personally, I don't bother with the whole "respect that which is not yours" idealogy, I'm more of a "steal only what you need, no more" kind of a guy, but you do not mess with that which is holy. Ian Curtis falls in that category, at least according to my playlist.
