birdsnest - 07:52 - 2008-Jul-20

*opens a bottle of Finlandia Vodka*

Your Skyys and Gooses are nothing.

dantesinferno - 08:53 - 2008-Jul-20

I <3 Blavod... is delicious with orange juice, and it goes green! Yay! Otherwise, I'm all for Zubrowka... mmm... grass...

Twist - 01:06 - 2008-Jul-21

yeah the vodka tonics go kinda greenish too with blavod.

birdsnest - 04:11 - 2008-Jul-21

Twist, you know Zubrowka! :D

*joins the Dante in the "Eastern European vodka rawks!" crowd*

bitzky - 01:50 - 2008-Jul-22

I do, Bitz, I do! The guys at the corner shop are Polish, and they recommended it to us one day. We found out the hard way that it doesn't really go with anything but apple juice, but still! Consider us converted!

We also recently had some vodka in a really nice bottle, which apparently is just "Russian Standard" vodka:

"Russian Standard (or Russky Standart) vodka is a genuine vodka, which is distilled to the original Tzar's premium quality standard established in 1894. Both brands: "Original" and "Platinum" have unique individual recipes which are a proprietary secret."

Twist - 12:00 - 2008-Jul-22

Yeah, well... the Finlandia Vodka bottle (or the older one) is a sculpture. The guy who designed it was like a Bloody Stupid Johnson, and crafted a bottle design for the company which required a whole new technology of glass blowing be created so the bottle could be mass produced.

Also, it's tasty with any form of mixer, and superb simply on it's own, chilled.

dantesinferno - 01:25 - 2008-Jul-22

Oh Ruski Standard is gooooood. Very smooth, without any stingy aftertaste. It's the vodka Russians drink, none of that Smirnoff Stoly Gorbachov stuff.

Finlandia Cranberry is definitely one of my top choices. But ever since I've tried Jouluviina and Tervasnapsi it had replaced Finnish vodkas in my cabinet :)

bitzky - 09:13 - 2008-Jul-22

Not to mention that you have Minttuu, the king of hangovers :D

bitzky - 09:14 - 2008-Jul-22

Ah yes... Minttu. Dude, try it with a dollop of Dr Pepper sometime, it's like liquid heaven.

dantesinferno - 09:26 - 2008-Jul-22

i think i have a bottle of Finlandia cranberry. i think my father in law drank it. i dunno.
